'Stand Together' Partners With Coachella Valley's New Acrisure Arena

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Stand Together — a philanthropic organization — announced Thursday that it will be the exclusive social impact partner and founding partner for the new Acrisure Arena venue — set to open in December — and Coachella Valley Firebirds hockey team.

"Musicians have been an essential part of most important changes in our country," said chief executive officer of Stand Together Brian Hooks. "That's why Stand together is committed to partnering with musicians and the country's most effective change-makers to tackle the root causes of our society's biggest challenges."

Stand Together focuses on education, economic opportunity, health care and partisan division, among other issues, to solve America's biggest problems.

Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs — a venue owned and operated by the Oak View Group — will be more than 300,000 square feet in size and offer 11,000 seats to host entertainment performances in addition to hockey games.

Through their partnership, Stand Together and Acrisure Arena aim to create a space for musicians, fans and members from the community to make a difference. Stand Together will also be the music series title sponsor for the arena.

"There is no denying the remarkable power of music to bring people together," said chief executive officer of Oak View Group Tim Leiweke. "I know we can transform the positive impact sports and entertainment facilities can make within our communities."

The Coachella Valley Firebirds is a minor league hockey team that serves as the Seattle Kraken's American Hockey League affiliate and will play their home games at the new arena.

The Firebirds will begin their inaugural season in October, and will probably play their initial home games in Seattle, according to Kraken General Manager Ron Francis.

To date, founding partners of the arena include Stand Together, Verizon, Alaska Airlines and Spotlight 29, according to a statement from the arena.
