Dickey's BBQ Officially Opens Its Doors On Thursday

An enthusiastic crowd gathered at lunchtime for the “soft” opening of Pleasant Hill’s newest eatery, Dickey’s BBQ at 2634 Pleasant Hill Road, near the border of Martinez. In fact, Martinez city employees and Pleasant Hill council members and other officials were among those tasting, and evidently enjoying, the fare on Wednesday.

But it is on Thursday that the restaurant opens its doors officially, giving away free sandwiches to the first 100 customers, according to co-owner Amy Meadows. The very friendly and affable Meadows was nice enough to take a few minutes from her hectic day to talk about her restaurant with Patch. Dickey’s will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, she said, including the Fourth of July.

She said the most popular dishes at the restaurant are the brisket, the chicken, and, of course, the ribs. Sweet tea, fried okra and other southern fare are also featured.
