Ground Breaking Next Week At Pleasant Hill Community Center

Board members have awarded the project to DL Falk Construction Co. for $8.2 million.

The $8.2 million Recreation and Park District's Community Center is scheduled to begin construction next week, after the official groundbreaking event on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 320 Civic Drive.

The Recreation and Park District Board members decided in May to rebid the project after the lowest bid came in $1.6 million over the budget. DL Falk Construction Co. submitted a bid for $8.2 million and was awarded the contract, according to a district release.

The board has agreed to cut some of the amenities out of the original design, according to the Contra Costa Times, including an entry canopy and high-end building materials.
