'Ride For Ryan' Pasta Fundraiser Set Tonight For Injured Teen
The Pleasant Hill athlete was paralyzed in a wrestling match. Event proceeds will go to helping his family buy a wheelchair-accessible van.

PLEASANT HILL, CA – “A Ride for Ryan” pasta dinner fundraiser is planned for tonight, Monday Feb. 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at College Park High School in Pleasant Hill to benefit Ryan Joseph, a 16-year-old who suffered a life-altering injury at a wrestling match in January.
All proceeds will go toward the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible van for the Joseph family, organizers said. This feed will include a spaghetti dinner, salad and dinner roll. Tickets are $15.
"The meal is being prepared and generously provided by Roxx on Main restaurant in Martinez. Dessert and soda will be available for purchase until sold out," according to the College Park High School Athletic Booster Club, which organized the "Ride for Ryan" dinner.

Ryan, a sophomore and student athlete, suffered a spinal-cord injury during a Jan. 10 wrestling match that left him paralyzed from the neck down, the booster club said. College Park Falcon friends, family and community members are raising money via a GoFundMe page to assist the Joseph family make changes to their home to accommodate Ryan’s needs and to purchase the wheelchair-accessible van.
The booster club said Ryan recently sent a message to his College Park H.S. "family" to say, "I would like everyone to know how much their support means to me. On my worst days, I think of all of you and know it is going to be all right."

Tickets for tonight's dinner are available for purchase online at http://bit.do/rideforryan. People unable to attend the dinner can still make a financial contribution on the web site.
College Park High School is located at 201 Viking Dr. in Pleasant Hill.
