What Were You Doing When the Power Went Out?

Did your power just black out for about five minutes?

I'm guessing it's the windy weather, but MAN, does a sudden blackout when one is home alone really get the adrenaline going.

I had just switched on the blender to do a final mixing up of banana bread for community snack in my son's class. (Yeah, sounds like I'm Betty Crocker herself, but do not be fooled by any means. Monday was Goldfish. Tuesday was a container of grapes.)

One second you're just mixing up banana bread and the next? Total blackness.

Then my phone rang, so at least there's always the eerie light of the cell to rescue us.

I have zero working flashlights because apparently there is a battery/flashlight shortage in the house caused by my son's overuse of batteries and flashlights for purposes I am not privvy to.

Just as I was fumbling for matches and a candle, poof it was on again. Yes! There shall be banana bread in the Kinney/Sweeney class tomorrow at . 

And all is well in suburbia.
