For Fall 2023, there will be no changes to the current CSU application.
Starting in the Fall of 2024, each state school will use the current calculation and the new Multi-Factor Admission Score (MFAS). Whichever score is higher will be used in the admissions decision for this interim year.

What is unclear is which of the MFAS components each campus will use, and what weight (if any) some factors will have compared to others. We also do not know what role the student’s desired major will play in the determination.
I have my estimate on what the allocation will be based on past history. As an example, currently, the engineering colleges put a high weight on a student’s math GPA. I am pretty sure that will continue. But could they add other factors that change the admissions decisions from previous years?
