City Officials Open Contest to Name New Pleasanton Dog Park
The off-leash dog park will be completed sometime in October.
PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton city officials are accepting entries until the end of the month to a contest to name a new dog park in the city. The off-leash dog park will be completed sometime in October near the trailhead of the Marilyn Murphy Kane trail.
City officials are looking for a name that attracts dog owners from all over the city. Plans call for the park to be about 1.5 acres in size. The park will be fenced in with separate places for smaller dogs and larger dogs.
Both areas will have drinking fountains, seating, shading and dog waste stations.
The area for larger dogs will have agility structures such as hoops, a seesaw and a jumping stand.
Entries must be mailed in or brought in on an official entry form, which can be downloaded here or by going to www.cityofpleasantonca.gov and looking under 'Latest News.'
