'Dream Come True': Pleasanton Salon Owner Continues Friend's Legacy
Jennifer Hatcher is the new owner of her best friend's salon on Main Street, Maven & Co.

PLEASANTON, CA — June 1 was Jennifer Hatcher’s first official day as the new owner of Maven & Co. Salon at 616 Main Street in Pleasanton.
“Getting to step into a leadership role while still working in the chair is a literal dream come true,” she told Patch.
Hatcher took over the Main Street location after her best friend, Lindsay Skog, opened it in the midst of a pandemic. Despite those challenges, Hatcher said, the salon still thrived.

“I’m not trying to step into her shoes because they’re unfillable,” Hatcher said. “But this is a new chapter and kind of a new path. She got to dream this place into life and she poured her heart into it; the fact that I get to keep going with this dream and help it grow is very much a privilege.”
Skog is also ready for the next chapter.

"I am incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to build the career and the salon of my dreams," she said. "Nothing brings me more joy than getting to have my dear friend continue that dream along side the most amazing team of stylist."
Among the plethora of salons in Pleasanton, Hatcher said the good vibes at Maven & Co. set them apart.
“We always say this place has a heartbeat. You walk in and it just has a very different feeling. The culture here is really incredible,” she said.
On the horizon for the bustling salon, a new associate program Hatcher created.
“That’s going to be launching in July so we are going to be a really great hub for new talent and for growing and mentoring stylists,” she said.
The Castro Valley native has spent her entire professional career in Pleasanton and doesn’t plan to change that.
“I would never leave. I love downtown Pleasanton.”
