"Dreamland": The Writers' Spotlight
An anonymous author describes dreams and feeling free in an original poem.

Dreamland: The place where I feel free
Freedom isn’t a feeling,
It’s a place.
As soon as I hit my pillows,
The blankets wrap around me in a soft embrace.
I close my eyes
And step into the unknown.
This is my world and only my world.
I’m not lonely, even though I am alone.

Here anything can happen;
No rules, no worries.
It’s a free place, like heaven;
I can do whatever I please.
Just as I am about to reach the top of Everest
My eyes pop open.
Time's up!
I’ve been awoken.

I get ready for school,
Sad that I’m back from reality,
But looking forward to tonight,
When I can return to my land of freedom and immortality.
