They are like an ocean, unrippled and clear,
Reminding me that they are not ours anymore,
Not even a drop of color, or life, or hearts,
The blankness shreds my being into parts,
It points out to me, that this is the last time through the door.

Its stupendous length outsizing our abode,
But wait, I tell myself. Not our home,
For it will be some other’s dome,
As soon as the multi-wheels take hold of our load.

The engine revving to life at last,
And so we drive, home away from home.
