Home Health Care Provider Accused of Failing to Pay $534,728 in Taxes
Muzaffar Hussain, a former Castro Valley resident, was charged with 44 counts of tax evasion and related charges.

A man with ties to Hayward, Castro Valley and Pleasanton pled innocent Thursday morning to a 44-count indictment charging him with tax fraud and structuring cash transactions to avoid income reporting requirements, according to the IRS.
Muzaffar Hussain, 64, of Hayward is accused of failing to account for and pay $534,728.15 in taxes, according to a press release issued by U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag and IRS Special Agent Jose Martinez.
Hussain is the owner of Crossroads Hospice in San Francisco, Horizon Home Health Care in Hayward and Sunshine Home Health Care, based on Chabot Drive in Pleasanton.

According to the indictment, Hussain used corporate funds to pay personal expenses, including those related to his divorce, luxury cars, a motor home and motorcycles.
Hussain's next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 22, 2013 before Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers.
