Major Pleasanton Power Outages Sweep Through Region
The Stoneridge Shopping Center was one of the thousands of customers hit by power outages on Tuesday.
PLEASANTON, CA — Amid triple-digit temperatures in the Bay Area on Tuesday, multiple outages affected PG&E customers— including the large local mall.
According to a PG&E representative, an outage hit the Stoneridge Shopping Center and surrounding areas at 11:38 a.m. The cause was “heat related.”
That outage initially impacted a total of 634 customers. Mall officials told Patch the power was out for around three hours. However, as of 3:15 p.m. power had been restored to all but 162 customers, according to PG&E.

Another large outage in Pleasanton happened at 12:15 p.m. and impacted some 2,055 customers, according to the utility company. As of 3:30 p.m., 172 customers remained without power as crews continued to work for full restoration.
There was not an immediate estimate as to when all power was expected back up.

More than 12,000 PG&E customers had been hit by a power outage on Tuesday alone, with 8,000 of those happening in the East Bay, according to the company.
