Man Found Dead at Pleasanton Ridge Identified
Coroners say cause of death appears to be suicide.
A man found dead Tuesday at the Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park has been identified as Max Pallen Jr., according to the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau.
No foul play is suspected in the death of the 46-year-old Pallen Jr., who operated martial arts studios in Castro Valley and San Leandro.
A note posted on Facebook by his brother, Jordan Pallen, also confirms the death:

"On behalf of the Pallen Family, I would like to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers," Jordan Pallen wrote. "Please add extra prayer for my mom and dad, who is taking it really hard."
The coroner said Pallen Jr. was found dead from an apparent suicide.
