Our City, Our Pride

Where the clouds kiss the ground,
During the flurry of the early hour.
Where the sun casts its rays,
Reaching every single flower.

Where the golfers golf,
And the parks are full of kids at play.
The hikers and bikers on trails,
And Teslas speed away.
Where the spectacular vistas,
Can be green fields or the cityscape,
You can take a stroll anywhere,
And enjoy the landscape.

This treasure that had been hidden in the valley,
Was uncovered 128 years ago,
It is home to the historic horse racetrack,
And it still seems to create quite the show.
The green sign hangs proud,
As it welcomes, and as it invites.
During the day, it gleams vibrantly,
And it looks pleasant when it lights at night.
The same Main Street,
Is home to many more,
The Museum, Library, Hotel,
Dairy, Restaurants and Stores.
Once every year,
You will hear the excitement ring through the air,
From one side of the city,
It's the annual Alameda County fair.
Every week a street is adorned,
With stalls full of veggies and fruits.
People drone from shop to shop,
Buying produce straight from their roots.
There are award-winning schools,
And a thriving business community.
People who stand together,
A stunning amount of diversity.
When the sun kisses the ground,
The city again boasts it well-deserved fame,
The lights proudly illuminate the Bay Area sky–
Pleasanton is our city’s name.
