Pleasanton Has Some of The Most Expensive Gas Prices in Bay Area: AAA
As of Tuesday, the state's average price for regular gasoline was $2.79, AAA officials said.

Despite a seasonal decrease in demand, California gas prices rose slightly compared to a month ago partly due to maintenance work being done at refineries in preparation for the upcoming winter months, according to AAA officials.
As of Tuesday, the state's average price for regular gasoline was $2.79, up by $0.06 from last month, but down by $0.13 from last year, AAA officials said.
Although California usually leads the nation with the highest gas prices, this month it came in second to Hawaii, which boasted an average price of $2.84 per gallon, according to AAA officials. The national average price for gas is $2.26, up by $0.08 from last month, but down by $0.06 from last year, AAA officials said.

Gasoline supplies in the region have been impacted as refineries, including the Chevron Richmond Refinery, perform maintenance work as they switch from summer-blend to winter-blend gas, according to AAA officials.
In the Bay Area San Francisco leads the region with the most expensive gas prices, averaging $2.92 per gallon, down by $0.04 from last month. Pleasanton and San Mateo both came in second with gas averaging $2.87 per gallon.

The cheapest gas in the Bay Area can be found in Vallejo, where it's averaging $2.72 per gallon, up by $0.04 from last month. Both Fremont and Concord came in second with gas averaging $2.74 per gallon, AAA officials said.
