Pleasanton Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Stealing Tesla From Dealership

David Camp of Pleasanton was arrested in Arroyo Grande after police said he was publicly drunk and driving a stolen car.

PLEASANTON, CA — A Pleasanton man was arrested in the Central Coast town of Arroyo Grande on suspicion of stealing a Tesla from an unspecified dealership, according to the Arroyo Grande Police Department.

On Tuesday at around 12:13 p.m., Arroyo Grande officers received reports that David Camp, 53 of Pleasanton, was sitting in a parked car shouting at passersby, AGPD said in a news release.

Officers arrived and determined that the car was stolen from a Tesla dealership. Police said that Camp displayed signs of alcohol intoxication, and refused to exit the vehicle.

Officers contacted the dealership, who were able to unlock it remotely. Officers opened the doors and arrested Camp without incident. Camp was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of vehicle theft, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.
