Pleasanton Woman Fatally Struck By Car Near Main Street: Police

A car struck and killed a 56-year-old female pedestrian Tuesday evening.

PLEASANTON, CA — A 56-year-old Pleasanton woman was killed after being hit by a car Tuesday evening, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

The collision occurred Tuesday at around 6:41 p.m. near the intersection of Main and Neal streets, police said in a news release. The woman was immediately cared for by police, fire, and paramedics and was transferred to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, and impairment does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
