Pleasanton Searching For Teen Poet Laureate
High school poets are encouraged to apply for the position, which is responsible for promoting poetry in and around the city.
PLEASANTON, CA - Young Pleasanton bards are encouraged to consider applying for the position of 2023-24 Teen Poet Laureate.
The Teen Poet Laureate is a volunteer position open to any incoming high school juniors or seniors in Pleasanton who can help foster an appreciation for composing, reading, reciting and listening to poetry in and around the city. Past poets have organized open mics, pop-up poetry at the library, poetry workshops, and original poem readings at city events.
The position lasts for one year. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5.
