"O Dear Mother"

By: Ishmeet Dhillon and Darina Nestorova

You are the sun peeking out of the clouds.
The rainbow after a rainy day,
You are the lotus in a pond,
Delicate and beautiful, like a bouquet.

You are the bravest of them all,
Beautiful and kind,
A flower always in bloom,
Never being left behind.

You were the first one to hold us,
Always hugging us when we would weep,
You held our hand when we learned to walk,
And would kiss us to sleep.

Your eyes the brightest stars,
And your face the sun when it glows.
Your hair the gentle grass,
And your cheeks the color of a rose.

You are our favorite teacher,
And you are our best friend.
You are always there for us,
At every beginning and every end.

You are wise, you are graceful,
And stronger than anyone we know.
You are the light in our night sky,
Like a firefly that glows.

You are our inspiration, our role model,
Our first teacher and guide,
Helping us when we are stuck,
Always standing by our side.

You help and guide us,
Whenever we stray from right,
Putting us back on our feet
And setting us upright.

You are our first love,
O my Beloved mother,
Forever with us in our hearts,
Irreplaceable. Unlike any other.

You are the most beautiful in our eyes,
Always bright and true,
So on this Mother’s Day, we want to say,
Mom, we love you!
