PUSD Releases Timeline For Returning Students To Class
Students are slated to return in the coming weeks. Here's what you need to know.
PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton Unified School District has released its timeline for reopening schools.
The plan was approved by the board Thursday evening at the PUSD Board of Trustees meeting. Younger students will return to campus first, while high schoolers will have to wait until Alameda County remains for five days in the red tier, which is one step above the purple tier.
Most of the state, including Alameda County, is currently in the purple tier — the most-strict of the state's four-tiered, color-coded COVID-19 risk assessment system.

"Our ability to welcome back more students to our schools and classrooms continues to depend on our collective efforts to remain vigilant in mask wearing, washing of hands and physical distancing," Superintendent David Haglund wrote in an email sent Friday to parents. "We continue to be in this together for our students and employees."
