Foothill (19-4, 9-3) owned sole possession of second place in the East Bay Athletic League going into Wednesday's 11-3 loss to California.

SAN RAMON, CA — Foothill High dropped into a second-place Wednesday after the Dons experienced an 11-3 East Bay Athletic League loss to Foothill.

Brendon Comeford and Jack Basser each had two hits for Foothill (19-4, 9-3), which owned sole possession of second place going into Wednesday.

Aiden Camberg drove in three runs Nic Bronzini pitched five strong innings to lead the Grizzlies (19-4, 9-3 EBAL) in their third straight win and seventh in eight games.

Bronzini (8-2) struck out six batters and gave up one run on five hits and two walks.

The Grizzlies led 4-1 going into the bottom of the fifth when they broke the game open with a seven-run outburst.
