Tree Falls In Sunol, Blocking SR-84 Lanes: CHP
A tree fell across Niles Canyon Road in Sunol, temporarily blocking both lanes of traffic.
SUNOL, CA — A tree fell across SR-84 in Sunol Friday morning, blocking all lanes between eastbound and westbound between Palomares Road in Fremont and Kilkare Road in Sunol.
The tree fell onto a powerline at 8:47 a.m., according to a California Highway Patrol log. A car either struck the tree or was struck by it as it fell, according to the log.
The tree completely blocked the road, and all lanes of the stretch of SR-84 were closed as of 9:19 a.m. 511.org also lists the westbound exiting off-ramp of Pleasanton Sunol Road as closed as of 9:39 a.m.

CHP, local fire departments, the Fremont Police Department, and PG&E responded to the scene. Although the tree hit a power line, PG&E does not list any power outages in the area as of 10 a.m..
