Tri-Valley Turkey Burn Scheduled For Thanksgiving
Crack out those turkey bibs and get running for one of the Pleasanton North Rotary Foundation's most beloved traditions.
PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton North Rotary is hosting its 10th annual Tri-Valley Turkey Burn 5K/10K - Run/Walk/Stroll the morning of Thanksgiving.
Residents will be invited to reflect on what they’re thankful for by decorating “I am thankful for…” bibs, which have become emblematic of the 5K/10K race that has taken place at Ken Mercer Park since 2015.
Over 2,000 walkers or runners are expected to partake in the 10th annual run, walk, or stroll, which raises money for Tri-Valley Youth Programs, a Pleasanton North Rotary program that sponsors scholarships, leadership training and youth exchange programs. Guests are also asked to bring non-perishable food donations for Tri-Valley Haven. Items that are needed include:

- Flour (small 2-5lb bags)
- Sugar (small 2-5lb bags)
- Oil (small bottles, 32oz or less)
- Cereal
- Peanut butter
- Jelly (any flavor)
- Spaghetti/pasta
- Seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic salt, etc.)
- Coffee (instant or ground)
- Oatmeal
- Ramen noodles
- Chili
- Soups
- Canned fruits
- Canned beans
- Granola bars
- Diapers/wipes (size 5 and up)
- Gluten-free items
- Sugar-free items
- Toiletries
Registration costs $15 for adults, $10 for children 10-17, and is $5 for children under 10. Dogs are also welcome. The pre-race packet pickup takes place Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Ken Mercer Sports Park.
The 10K race starts Thursday at 9 a.m., and the 5K will start at 9:10 a.m.
