"Welcome To The Torture Chamber": The Writers' Spotlight
Aishwarya Pattanayak shares a deep poem with a perspective.

Welcome to the torture chamber
Walls of glass and blood galore
They are not dead, at least not yet
And they won’t die until blood is shed
Welcome to the torture chamber
Where we watch people go insane
We watch them put a noose on their neck
And we cheer as they choke to death
Welcome to the torture chamber
Our victims suit our viewers needs
Some are thrown in a vat of acid
Some eaten alive as we speak
Some forced into empty silence
Others forced to overdose

Why are you here you ask?
Isn’t the answer quite clear?
You don’t seem fit to watch them suffer
So you will suffer instead
I will push you in
And film you live
The viewers will place their bets
As our torture devices are put to use
Those bets will be met

So go in there, you’ll be fine
As fine as you can be
When you’re burnt alive
Hush now, don’t you cry
Did you really think you would make it out alive?
The night will fall
And the locks will bolt
There is no way you’ll be found
So say goodbye once and for all
You have no one else to live for
And now, the time is right
I will strike the match
And watch you crumble into ash
