Gas Leak Reported In RSM Shopping Center

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — A gas leak was reported in Rancho Santa Margarita Tuesday.

The leak was reported shortly after 10 a.m. in the area of El Paseo and Alma Aldea, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Deputies said the gas leak was coming from inside of the shopping center.

Residents were urged to avoid the area "until further notice."

"We will notify the community when the roadways are open and it is safe to return to the area," deputies said in a statement.
