High Winds In RSM Create 'Critical Fire Weather Conditions': NWS

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for RSM and warned residents of potentially dangerous wildfire conditions.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Rancho Santa Margarita residents will want to take down their Halloween decorations before they're blown away, after the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for inland Orange County.

The advisory was issued from Wednesday morning to 2 p.m. Thursday and impacts the Inland Empire, Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, and Orange County inland cities, including Rancho Santa Margarita.

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, and tree limbs could be blown down," the National Weather Service wrote on its website. "Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle."

In addition, the National Weather Service cautioned residents that humidity will be at a dry 10 to 15 percent Wednesday and 5 to 10 percent Thursday, with poor oversight recovery.

"The low humidity combined with the winds will result in elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions," the NWS said.
