RSM Homes May Lose Power Amid Shutoff Warning, Red Flag Event

Dangerous wildfire conditions and feared downed power lines are why South Orange County residents could lose power overnight, SCE says.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Be aware, Rancho Santa Margarita residents: SoCal Edison issued a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff impacting portions of Orange County on Monday.

The potential Public Safety Power Shutoff would impact portions of Rancho Santa Margarita. The power shutoffs could occur on Tuesday or Wednesday due to heightened wildfire risk, according to SCE.

Power shutoffs are likely to occur if weather conditions create risk for a wildfire, SCE said.

The notification comes as a fire weather watch was put in effect Wednesday morning through Thursday for the Inland Empire, inland Orange County and San Diego valleys due to strong Santa Ana winds and low relative humidity.
