Beach Bike Tour to Ride Through Redondo

The South Bay Sunrise Rotary Club's 2nd annual RAT Beach Bike Tour will roll through the South Bay this weekend, with rides through the Beach Cities and Palos Verdes.

Saturday's events are set to begin at 6:30 a.m. at RAT Beach, located at the very south end of Torrance Beach. The tour features three rides, from a 15.5-mile ride to a 62-mile one that runs through the Beach Cities and PV.

All three rides go through the area.

Last year's event drew 465 riders in the Metric Century (62 miles), Metric Half Century (31 Miles) and a Metric Quarter Century (15.5 miles), according to the event website.

Proceeds will go to the Pediatric Therapy Network, the Scott Newman Center, in addition to other charities supported by the South Bay Sunrise Rotary Club.
