El Segundo Brewing Adds New Bottled Beers

A look at what is happening on the craft beer scene in the South Bay of Los Angeles.

After it began bottling two of its beers in February, El Segundo Brewing will release two more of its beers this weekend in bottle format – Citra Pale Ale and Two-Five Left Double IPA.

The beers, which will soon hit stores in the South Bay, will be released at the brewery on Friday with a bottle release party (See our listing below for details).

"We are so stoked to invite two more brands to our bottle portfolio," El Segundo's Tom Kelly said in an email.

The brewery's two other bottled beers - Standard Crude Imperial Stout and White Dog IPA – are also available in limited quantities in stores around the South Bay.

Select Beer Store | Redondo Beach

Dude's Double Trunk DIPA Release | Thursday, April 4th | 5 p.m.

Select Beer will host the release of The Dudes' Brewing Company Double Trunk Double IPA. This will be one of the first opportunities to taste the Dudes' newest beer. The rest of the Dudes' lineup will also be available on tap and free Dudes' glassware will be given out with the purchase of a beer.

El Segundo Bottle Release | Sunday, April 7 | Noon - 6 p.m.

Select Beer Store will be holding an El Segundo Brewing bottle release party, featuring the crowd pleasing favorites Citra Pale and Two 5 Left Double IPA. Select Beer Store will be the first place to pick up the convenient 22oz bottles outside of the brewery. Come and get 'em!  

Ommegang Night | Thursday, April 11 | 5 p.m.

Select Beer Store will be hosting Ommegang Night featuring the release of the Game of Thrones beer Iron Throne. This Belgian-style Blonde Ale has a malty sweetness, a touch of fruity spiciness, aroma of Noble Hops and notes of citrus. The store will also be pouring some other delicious beers from Ommegang for your enjoyment, including:

  • Witte (Belgian-style Wit)
  • BPA (Belgian-style Pale)
  • 2012 release of Art of Darkness that has been aging for the past year.

Vella Mobile Wood-Fired Pizza will be on site serving up their fresh and flavorful pizzas.

Adam's Fine Wine & Liquor | Redondo Beach

New bottle arrivals at Adam's Fine Wine & Liquor this week include:

  • Beers from Alpine Brew Co.
  • Rare sour beer from Telegraph Brewing
  • Pilsner from Nobel Ale Works.

Adam's is also doing a special on the Stone Oak-Smoked Barley Wine, offering 2 bottles for $10 this week.

Naja's Place | Redondo Beach

El Segundo Brewing Keep the Glass Night | Thursday, April 4 | 8 p.m.

Naja's Place on Redondo's International Boardwalk will host El Segundo Brewing for a keep the glass night. Those purchasing El Segundo beers will get to take the glass home with them for future enjoyment.

El Segundo Brewing | El Segundo 

New Bottle Release | Friday, April 5 | 5 p.m.

El Segundo Brewing, which recently began bottling its beers, will release two more beers in bottle format next week – Two 5 Left Double IPA and Blue House Citra Pale Ale.

To celebrate the brewery has invited Vella Pizza to join them for the evening and dish out some delicious pies for all the hungry folk.  Since, what goes better with beer, than Pizza?

During the event, the brewery will also tap a cask of Amarillo dry-hopped Pale Ale. 

On draft, in growlers, or in bottles, will be:

  • Blue House Citra Pale
  • Two 5 Left Double IPA
  • White Dog IPA
  • Blue House Pale
  • Blue House IPA
  • Hyperion's Stout
  • Vanilla Hyperion's Stout

Limited availability left on Standard Crude Imperial Stout bottles.  Plenty of draft pints to go around though!

The Dudes' Brewing Company | Torrance

After celebrating its first launch events in the Beach Cities this month, The Dudes' Brewing will head to other venues across Los Angeles to bring their South Bay brewed beer to the masses.

Next week's Dudes' launch events will take place at:

  • Saturday, April 6; 6 p.m | 38 Degrees | Pasadena
  • Sunday, April 7; 5 p.m. | Kings Row | Old Pasadena

In addition to the launch events, The Dudes' Brewing will launch its newest beer – Double Trunk Double IPA – at Select Beer Store beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 4. The event will be one of the first times the general public can try the beer.

Strand Brewing Co. | Torrance

Strand Brewing Co. continues to sell four of its beers in bottles from the taproom and soon enough, at local establishments and stores.
