Fund Established to Help Goldberg Kids
People can contribute to the Goldberg Kids Fund at the Redondo Beach and Torrance branches of the South Bay Credit Union.

The Redondo Beach Police Officers Association and the Redondo Beach Firefighters Association have created a fund to support the Goldberg children, according to a news release from the RBPOA.
The children, ages 10 and 13, were left without parents Feb. 22. Police believe their father, Russell Scott Goldberg, shot and killed their mother, Margaret Ann "Peggy" Goldberg, in her home on Agate Street in South Redondo Beach before fleeing the state. After a three-hour standoff that night on Interstate 15 in Utah, state troopers discovered that Russell Goldberg had committed suicide.
The Goldbergs had just finished a contentious divorce and were involved in a bitter custody dispute.

"Tragic events like last week's homicide impact all of us within the Redondo Beach community," RBPOA President Dave Taneman said in the news release. "Something like this, even for cops and firefighters, can leave you feeling like the wind has been knocked out of you."
Right now, the children are staying with relatives in Redondo Beach.
