Man Wounded In Torrance Shooting

The victim was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital, authorities said.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — A man was wounded in a shooting in the area of Western Avenue and 220th Street in Torrance Thursday.

Gunshots were reported about 5:35 p.m., according to Torrance Police Department Sgt. Alexander Martinez.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, Martinez said.

The unidentified victim was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital, but an update on his condition was not immediately available, Martinez said.

Western Avenue was closed in both directions from Carson Street to 223rd Street and eastbound 220th Street was closed from Abalone Avenue to Western Avenue for the shooting investigation, Martinez said.
