2 Homes Damaged In Rohnert Park Structure Fire

ROHNERT PARK, CA — One house sustained major damage and a second one lesser damage in a Sunday afternoon fire that began in an adjacent shed, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said.

Two firefighters and a community service officer required medical attention after helping fight the fire, public safety officials said.

Firefighters were called at about 3:45 p.m. to Bonnie Avenue, where the shed was burning.

Police said a nearby resident reported hearing an explosion in the shed. The home closest to the shed sustained serious damage, and four residents there were displaced.

A nearby house sustained less serious fire damage, and no one there was displaced, according to the Department of Public Safety.

The cause of the original shed fire remained under investigation late Sunday night.
