CHP Douses Car Fire On Hwy 116, Arrests Driver For Suspected DUI
While some officers pulled the driver from the burning car, others used fire extinguishers to stop the flames from spreading.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA β A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI early Wednesday morning when their car caught fire on state Highway 116 near Rohnert Park and Cotati, the California Highway Patrol said.
Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. to reports of a crash on SR-116 at Gilchrist Road and found the driver still inside the car as flames began to engulf it, the CHP said.
While some officers pulled the driver from the burning car, others used fire extinguishers to stop the flames from spreading farther.

The driver suffered minor injuries and the fire was contained to the car and a small patch of brush on the shoulder of the road, the CHP said.
Following medical clearance, the driver, whose name was not disclosed, was arrested for DUI and booked into Sonoma County jail.
