Cotati Switches From Nixle To New Alert System: What To Know
The city of Cotati will no longer use Nixle to send emergency alerts and other notifications. Here's what residents need to know.
COTATI, CA β Starting Oct. 1, the city of Cotati will no longer use Nixle to send emergency alerts and community notifications, the city announced Wednesday on Nixle.
Instead, the city will use Cotati Alerts, a CivicPlus mass notification system, to keep the community safe and informed.
Using Cotati Alerts, people can elect to receive phone calls, text messages, and/or emails for emergency alerts, general notifications, police notifications, recreation events, and/or road work/construction

Those who wish to continue receiving emergency alerts and community notifications must register online at Cotati-ca.myfreealerts.com no later than Oct. 1.
It is important to note that new users will receive a verification email or text the first time they register at the site; they will not receive alerts or notifications until they verify their account.
