High-Risk Offender Leaves Rohnert Park Motel

A high-risk sex offender is no longer staying at a Rohnert Park motel, the city's Department of Public Safety said Tuesday morning.

ROHNERT PARK - A high-risk sex offender is no longer staying at a Rohnert Park motel, the city's Department of Public Safety said Tuesday morning.

Jonathan Michael Hoppner, 23, was placed at a Rohnert Park motel Monday but he moved when the motel management told police they were not aware Hoppner was there and he was not a registered guest, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Rohnert Park public safety officers confirmed with state parole officials that Hoppner moved out of Rohnert Park Monday night, and that Hoppner was looking for lodging in a rural area.

No incidents involving Hoppner in Rohnert Park were reported Monday, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Hoppner was incarcerated for annoying or molesting a child under 18 and sexual battery.

The past victims included females between 15 and 50 years old.

Hoppner was to be released on parole to a Petaluma motel last week until police publicized his proposed release in Petaluma and the motel management objected to his presence.
