A high-risk sex offender was released at a motel in Rohnert Park Monday, according to police.
ROHNERT PARK - A high-risk sex offender was released at a motel in Rohnert Park Monday, according to police.
The Rohnert Park Police Department said in a statement they were notified Monday evening that Jonathan Michael Hoppner, 23, had been released on parole within their jurisdiction Monday.
Hoppner was incarcerated on charges of annoying or molesting a child under age 18 and sexual battery. His past victims included women and girls between 15 and 50 years old, according to police.

Police say Hoppner is considered a high risk to re-offend, and they are releasing this information for public safety purposes.
Hoppner is described as a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes.

He's roughly 6 feet tall and weighs 240 pounds.
The Petaluma Police Department made news Thursday when they publicized an attempt by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to release Hoppner at a hotel in Petaluma.
The following day, the hotel decided not to accept Hoppner in the wake of publicity surrounding his release.
