The fire did $100,000 in damage to a Southwest Santa Rosa home.

SANTA ROSA, CA β€” A fire started by flammable material near a floor heater did an estimated $100,000 in damage Tuesday morning to a house in Southwest Santa Rosa, the Santa Rosa Fire Department said.

Crews arriving in the 3900 block of Golden Gate Ave. shortly after 8:30 a.m. found smoke coming from the front and attic of the house.

While crews on the roof worked to ventilate the attic of smoke and heat, firefighters entered the home and found a moderate amount of smoke inside. Movement was hampered by a large amount of furniture and belongings, officials said. A search found nobody inside.
