Police Make Arrest In Santa Rosa Homicide Investigation

SANTA ROSA, CAβ€” Police in Santa Rosa on Thursday arrested a man in connection with a homicide that occurred in September.

Kirk Williams, 43, of Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of murder, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Police were investigating Williams as a person-of-interest in the killing of 29-year-old Jamani Campbell.

On Sept. 18, officers received a call about an unconscious man at the rear of a business in the 400 block of College Avenue. The caller, a security guard, reported a man was unconscious and not breathing.

The victim had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

When officers served a search warrant at Williams' home on Oct. 1, he was arrested on outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants in connection with domestic violence, police said.

Detectives continued to investigate the homicide while Williams was in custody and were able to gather witness statements and physical evidence to link Williams to Campbell's murder, police said.
