Rohnert Park Police Compiling List of Private Video Surveillance Cameras
The Department wants to know which homes and businesses in the city have their own security cameras.

ROHNERT PARK, CA -- If you have a security camera around your home or business, Rohnert Park police say that you could help solve crimes.
Security cameras that face street and walkway areas such as popular doorbell cameras have captured images that have proven critical in solving crimes, police say, and what the Rohnert Park Public Safety says in an effort to better serve the community, the police department's investigations unit is compiling a list of locations within the city who have functioning surveillance video cameras and store the video.
"In an event a crime occurs, we can quickly look up based upon location who has video and who to contact," Rohnert Park police said in a statement.

Those who maintain a surveillance video and would like to participate in this program can call the Investigation Unit at (707) 584-2630 with the following information:
- Address and location of security cameras
- Contact person and phone numbers
- In the event that your video is on a loop, please provide us the amount of time you keep the video.
The information can also be mailed to rpdpsinvestigations@rpcity.org.

If you're added to the list and a crime is committed in your area, investigators could contact you to see if information was captured on your camera.
