Rohnert Park Woman Arrested for Burglary, Child Endangerment
Connie Holmes, 30, was arrested for shoplifting from a Kohl's department store in Petaluma and leaving her 4-year-old son locked in her car.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary and childΒ endangerment in Petaluma Thursday night, police said.
According to police, Connie Holmes, 30, of Rohnert Park wasΒ arrested after allegedly shoplifting from the Kohl's department store onΒ North McDowell Boulevard and leaving her 4-year-old son locked in a vehicle.
Holmes, police said, had allegedly stolen merchandise from theΒ store when the security staff at Kohl's confronted her. Holmes ran to herΒ vehicle and drove away.

Officers responded at 9:15 p.m. and found the vehicle 15 minutesΒ later in a dark area behind the store. The stolen property and her son wereΒ locked in the vehicle, police said.
The Petaluma Fire Department responded to gain entry to theΒ vehicle. The child was later released to a grandparent after being taken toΒ the Police Department.Β Holmes fled on foot, police said.

Petaluma police located Holmes two hours later as a friend wasΒ picking her up.Β Holmes was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of childΒ endangerment and burglary. Her bail is set at $25,000.
