Rohnert Park Woman Arrested With Gun In Front Of Safeway

A 34-year-old woman was arrested Saturday morning in Rohnert Park on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon.

ROHNERT PARK - A 34-year-old woman was arrested Saturday morning in Rohnert Park on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and other offenses, public safety officials said.

Dispatchers received a report at 10 a.m. of a woman with a gun in front of a Safeway store at 6340 Commerce Boulevard.

Officers responded and found Rohnert Park resident Sarah Kynoch with a gun and knife tucked in her front waistband, according to public safety officials.

Kynoch had been brandishing the gun and held an acquaintance at gunpoint as she moved the person around the store's parking lot, Sgt. Rick Bates said.

Kynoch was upset because she thought her acquaintance had stolen some of her jewelry, Bates said.

A person in the parking lot reported the suspicious activity to public safety officials. Kynoch was safety arrested and taken to the county jail.
