Santa Rosa School District, Employee Labor Union Reach Agreement
Santa Rosa City Schools is the largest district in Sonoma County, with 1,600 staff members.
SANTA ROSA, CA β The Santa Rosa City Schools District and the California School Employees Association have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract, the school district said Wednesday.
The agreement through June 2020 provides a 7.5-percent salary increase starting July 1 and a 7.5-percent increase in the employees' health and welfare cap, raising the medical benefits cap to $907.
The tentative agreement also includes a $200 increase in dental benefits.

The association represents non-teaching classified employees such as secretaries, food service staff and custodians.
The CSEA must still ratify the tentative agreement and it must be approved by the district's board.

The Santa Rosa City Schools District faces declining enrollment, increased special education costs, pension costs and inadequate state funding, district spokeswoman Beth Berk said.
The district is the largest in the county with 1,600 staff members including more than 900 teachers that serve 16,000 students in 24 schools.
