Sebastopol Road-Rage Incident Lands Man Behind Bars: Police

BREAKING: A Santa Rosa man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon following a multi-vehicle collision, police say.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA β€” Sebastopol police arrested a driver Tuesday on suspicion of assault in connection with a road rage non-injury collision Monday. Police responded around 4:40 p.m. Monday to the multi-vehicle collision on North Main Street near McKinley Street in downtown Sebastopol. Officers determined the crash was not accidental but possibly a road rage incident stemming from a vehicle that was merging into a traffic lane at the last minute, Sgt. Joe Furry said.

The driver in the vehicle that was merging and his 10-year-old son were not injured in the collision involving a vehicle driven by Samuel Ward-Hornstein, 27, of Santa Rosa, Furry said.

Ward-Hornstein was arrested around 8:40 a.m. Tuesday on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism. The vehicles sustained minor to moderate damage, Furry said.
