Suspect Leads Officers On Chase, Hits Cop Car: Rohnert Park DPS

The chase from Rohnert Park to Santa Rosa started when officers went to arrest the suspect on a Sonoma County robbery warrant.

ROHNERT PARK, CA β€” A man sought for his part in a suspected robbery led officers on a chase Friday from Rohnert Park to Santa Rosa before trying to hide in an apartment complex prior to his arrest.

Officers with the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety were looking for Teion McClatchey at his home on Avenida Cala at about 11:40 a.m. Friday so they could arrest him on a Sonoma County robbery warrant, according to police officials.

While they were unable to find McClatchey at his house, an officer soon spotted his car heading south on Snyder Lane and gave chase.

McClatchey, 20, then allegedly led officers on a chase through the M Section neighborhood, back north on Snyder Lane and west on Southwest Boulevard, where he collided with a patrol car before continuing north on Commerce Boulevard and then onto northbound U.S. Highway 101, police said.

With deputies from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office joining the chase, along with a sheriff's department helicopter, McClatchey exited the freeway at Bicentennial Way in Santa Rosa, where he ended up crashing into a pole in the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center parking lot, police said.

He then allegedly ran to an apartment complex on Russell Avenue, where sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter.

McClatchey surrendered after about 30 minutes and was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of felony evading, a felony robbery warrant and "multiple crimes" in Marin County, police said.
