Woman Killed In Sebastopol Shooting: Police

Police identified the victim but did not release the suspected shooter's name.

SEBASTOPOL, CA β€” Police arrested a man suspected of fatally shooting a woman Thursday night at a Sebastopol home.

Officers responded around 7 p.m. Thursday to a report of a disturbance and shots fired at a home in the 300 block of Pleasant Hill Avenue North β€” near Willard Libby Park β€” police said Friday.

When they arrived, officers found a woman with a gunshot wound to the face. The victim, identified as Cynthia Marie Janssen, was taken to Memorial Hospital Santa Rosa where she later died.

Officers took the suspect into custody at the home without incident, according to the Sebastopol Police Department.

Police did not release the name of the suspect, pending an investigation.
