IKEA Escondido will be located in the Escondido Promenade. The new 798-square-foot space at 1200 Auto Park Way will serve as a planning studio where customers can work directly with IKEA specialists to plan and order home furnishing solutions for spaces such as kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms.

Shoppers will be able to choose between delivery or pick-up from the smaller-format location. Online customers will also be able to select IKEA Escondido as their preferred pick-up location during checkout at IKEA.us.

"I'm beyond excited to welcome customers at IKEA Escondido this spring," said Laura Mellor, market manager for IKEA U.S. "No more trekking through that notorious San Diego traffic — now you can enjoy IKEA and our inspiring home design with less hassle."

According to the company, the new format is part of the brand's growth strategy for the U.S.
