SAN FRANCISCO — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories: October is poised to get off to a warm start in the Bay Area, reigniting fire concerns even in the wake of recent moisture. Though forecasters note that early October is typically one of the hottest periods of the year for the region, the week ahead may run noticeably warmer than usual.
"While much of Napa County did get some beneficial rain yesterday, this week's drying trend lines up with the climatological peak of fire season," NWS Bay Area forecasters wrote Sunday. "If offshore winds reach the coast, the temperatures may outperform our forecasted highs. It's possible some record highs could be tied or broken Wednesday through Friday."
