Triple Coffee, based in San Francisco’s Marina District, is teaming up with World Barista Champion Coach Federico Bolanos for an at-home tasting event on Saturday, March 27th. The tasting costs $45 and includes a A Zoom link to joining the tasting, instructions of how to brew your single-serve coffees, and a walk-through of three of Federico's favorite coffees.

Federico Bolanos is a roaster, barista coach and Q grade taster. A barista since 2005, he has gone on to coach two World Barista Champions, two Finalists and five Semi-Finalists, along with numerous National Champions. He is a pioneer of cafe culture in El Salvador and owner of roaster Alquimia.

Sprude called Bolanos, “one of the most prolific coffee coaches in the history of the World Barista Championship”

Triple Coffee founder Tim Melano’s mission is to connect the industry on a human level, as producers rarely get to see how their coffee is enjoyed once it leaves their farm, and coffee enthusiasts don't often get the opportunity to delve deeper into the craft behind their morning cup.

The virtual tasting series, showcasing the company’s award-winning small farm Honduran coffees, has become hugely popular since it was launched in early 2020, with hundreds of coffee lovers participating in the laid back, virtual cafe format that Melano has developed over the course of the past year since the onset of the pandemic.

Coffees are delivered with single pour over filters and all guests need is boiled water and cups, with no elaborate equipment or barriers to entry. The purpose is to come together and share in the stories behind these beautifully crafted coffees.

Earlier this year, Triple Coffee Company won the Good Food Awards for their Pacamara Natural from Honduras. The Good Food Foundation exists “to celebrate, connect, empower and leverage the passionate and engaged, yet often overlooked, players in the food system who are driving towards tasty, authentic and responsible food in order to humanize and reform our American food culture”.
