Video Shows Thieves Using Battering Ram to Break into Fisherman's Wharf Camera Shop

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Thieves used an improvised battering ram to break into a camera store in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf area early this morning, according to police.

The break-in occurred just before 3 a.m. when four suspects used what appeared to be a long pole attached to the back of a white van as a battering ram to smash into the front of the store in the 2800 block of Leavenworth Street.

Police released surveillance video of the burglary today and are asking anyone with information to contact the department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411, beginning the
text with "SFPD."
