Seagull Dangling From Light Pole Rescued By Firefighter

SAN LEANDRO, CA — A seagull tangled in fishing line was found dangling from a light pole at the San Leandro Marina on Sunday.

The Alameda County Fire Department was sent to rescue it.

A firefighter climbed a ladder armed with a heavy-duty plastic bag and a tool to cut the fishing line. After securing the struggling bird inside the bag, the line was cut.

The bird was carried down to safety, and then transferred to a vet clinic for treatment.
